What this site is. LengthConversion.online is a free library of more than 50 conversion tools covering metric, imperial and US customary units, the nautical mile used in sea and air navigation, and the traditional land units of South Asia such as the gaj, marla, kanal, acre, bigha and katha. Alongside the calculators you will find plain-language guides — including our explanations of length units and regional land-measurement standards — so you can understand the units you are converting, not just get a number.
Who the site is for. Students and teachers use our converters for homework, exam revision and classroom demonstrations. Engineers, architects and builders rely on them for plans, estimates and site measurements. Travellers and drivers convert road distances, while buyers and sellers of property in Pakistan and India use the marla, kanal, gaj and bigha calculators to make sense of listings and documents. Anyone who needs a quick, trustworthy answer — with no sign-up and no cost — is welcome here.
How our converters are verified. Every conversion factor on this site is taken from the internationally agreed definitions of the units. The metric–imperial backbone comes from the 1959 International Yard and Pound Agreement, which fixed 1 inch at exactly 2.54 centimetres and 1 yard at exactly 0.9144 metres; the nautical mile is fixed at exactly 1,852 metres by international agreement. Regional land units use the standards each region’s revenue records follow — for example, in Pakistan 1 marla equals 30.25 square yards and 1 kanal equals 20 marlas. Before a tool goes live, its results are cross-checked against standard references, and our quality-assurance routine re-checks the tools regularly so errors cannot creep in unnoticed.
Accuracy and updates. Because the core factors are fixed by international agreement, they do not change or go out of date; the calculators built on them stay correct indefinitely. Explanatory guides and regional standards are reviewed periodically, and corrections are published as soon as they are confirmed. If you ever spot a result that looks wrong, tell us through the contact page — we investigate every report.
